Job Summary
To advise, plan, monitor and review project related safety & health requirements compliances. Promote & enforce in implementation of all aspect of Project Occupational Safety & Health (OSH) Management & OHSAS 18001 System requirements and required regulations as per OSHA 1994 or FMA 1967 or others.
Key Responsibilities
- To ensure all Malaysian Laws & Bi Laws are adhere and enforce.
- To review WPC’s project safety and health documentation ,audit reports and nonconformities issued and follow up on closure status.
- To liaise and coordinate with WPC’s ,SC and PDP Management on implementation of safety and health requirement at all weekly progress meeting and monitor the status at weekly progress meeting.
- To approve WPC’s Safety Managers and Safety Health Officer and get consent from CD,GM and PM for final approval.
- To monitor the implementation and effectiveness of WPC’s approved safety and health plan.
- To ensure WPC’s review the safety and health plan on bi yearly basis and ensure not to approve said plan unless all new requirement are incorporated into their plan eg: new revised SWI any new instruction given by PDP’s PD.
- To steer the WPC HIRARC review committee on Hazards,risk assessment,and determining control.
- To review Method Statement /Job Safety Analysis or other document in relation to SHE’s for Field View approval and submission.
- To advise PMD,WPC’s management and assist with implementation of new SHE legislation,rules and company standards.
- To advise/assess WPC’s on major incident investigations and IMS closure report.
- To analyse observations/NCR’s/SWO’S/Incident and produce trend analysis report on monthly basis.
- To develop and maintain a shared safety and health folder that is accessible to concerned parties within shared drive folder.
- To develop and conduct safety and health training to PDP,SC and WPC.
- To comply and adhere to all matters pertaining to Quality, Safety & Health and Environment related to the job scope and work place as required by the Company.
- Any other duties that will be assigned from time to time by the Management.
Qualifications
- Degree in Industrial Engineering.
Skills & Abilities
- Posses Green Book holder.
- Possess NEBOSH Internation Construction Certificate.
- Competent Safety & Health Officer & Certified Lead Assessor for Safety & Health Management System.
- Experienced in liaising with external regulatory bodies.
- Excellent risk assessment and management skill.
- Excellent interpersonal skill.
- Emergency preparedness.
- Familiar with OHSAS 18001 or MS 1722 OHS-MS Standards.
- Proficient in communication.
- Self motivated, leadership quality and work independently.
- Well versed in OHSAS 18001 and MS 1722, OSH related issues and legislation.
Expected Minimum Years of Experience
- 10 years (In Safety & Health).
