About the role

 

DT Infrastructure is seeking an experienced Senior Health & Safety Advisor to join DT Infrastructure and Alstom in delivering the $1.6B contract for Perth's High-Capacity Signalling Project. The project includes the design, supply, installation, testing, commissioning and maintenance of the new Automatic Train Control System to replace the existing signalling and train control systems in Perth.

 

Reporting to the Health & Safety Manager, the Senior Health & Safety Advisor will support business unit operations and management to ensure compliance with local HS management plans, regularly review risk registers, and implement DTI Integrated Management System (IMS) policies and programs across the project.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Implement DTI IMS HSE policies, management plans, risk registers, and statutory standards across site operations.
  • Coach site leadership, project teams, and subcontractors on SWMS, ATWPs, pre-starts, daily plant checks, and site safety compliance.
  • Conduct site field inspections, internal HSE audits, VOCs, drug & alcohol testing, and risk assessments.
  • Lead incident reporting and ICAM investigations (using GDOS/InControl), ensuring timely closeout of corrective actions.
  • Provide injury management and return-to-work (RTW) support, developing treatment plans and liaising with stakeholders.
  • Analyze safety data, prepare management reports, track emerging trends, and mentor junior HS practitioners

 

Experience and capabilities

 

  • Diploma or Advanced Diploma in HSE, Business, or related discipline (Degree preferred).
  • 4+ years’ experience in an HSE practitioner role within major construction or infrastructure projects.
  • Lead ICAM Incident Investigation certification essential; Certificate IV Training & Assessing or Lead Auditor qualifications desirable.
  • Strong working knowledge of statutory WHS provisions, subcontractor management, and HSE Integrated Management Systems (IMS).
  • Proven experience developing RTW plans, leading safety audits, and delivering site HSE training programs.
  • Valid C-Class Driver’s License required.
