Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Supervisor - QAQC to oversee the daily quality control operations within our precast manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will lead a team of QC inspectors, ensuring that all precast elements (such as walls, slabs, and bathroom pods) meet stringent project specifications, industry standards, and internal quality benchmarks. You will bridge the gap between production efficiency and uncompromising quality.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Concreting Inspection (Mould & Rebar)
-
Read and interpret structural shop drawings and BIM-generated plans.
-
Inspect mould setups, ensuring correct dimensions, alignment, and cleanliness prior to casting.
-
Verify the placement, size, and tying of reinforcement bars (rebar) and wire meshes.
-
Check the positioning of cast-in items, such as M&E conduits, lifting hooks, sockets, and architectural inserts.
In-Process Inspection (Concreting)
-
Monitor the concrete pouring and vibration processes to prevent segregation or improper compaction.
-
Conduct fresh concrete tests, including slump tests and temperature checks, in coordination with the batching plant.
-
Prepare and label concrete test cubes for compressive strength testing at the laboratory.
Post-Concreting & Final Inspection
-
Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of demoulded precast elements (e.g., walls, slabs, bathroom pods).
-
Check for surface defects such as honeycombing, cracks, spalling, or dimensional warping.
-
Perform final checks and verify panel markings before approving the finished products for storage or delivery to construction sites.
Defect Reporting & Documentation
-
Promptly identify and tag any defective products or non-conforming items on the production line.
-
Report defects immediately to the QA/QC Supervisor and Production team.
-
Accurately fill out daily inspection checklists, test logs, and quality forms to ensure full traceability of every manufactured panel.
-
Ensure all personal and testing activities strictly adhere to factory Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) guidelines.
Qualifications
Certificate or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Building Technology, or a related technical field. (Highly motivated SPM/SPVM graduates with relevant industry experience may also be considered).
Skills & Abilities
- Strong ability to read and understand technical drawings and measurements.
-
Hands-on familiarity with standard measuring tools (measuring tapes, calipers, spirit levels, laser levels).
-
Basic understanding of concrete behavior and precast manufacturing processes.
Expected Minimum Years of Experience
1 to 3 years of hands-on experience in quality inspection, ideally within precast concrete, construction, or heavy manufacturing.
