Job Summary
The Mechanical Executive plays a critical role in ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of Gamuda IBS’s highly automated precast manufacturing facilities. This role involves overseeing the mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of advanced robotic systems, concrete batching plants, overhead cranes, and automated circulation lines.
Key Responsibilities
Automated Systems & Machinery Maintenance

Lead and execute preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs for advanced precast manufacturing machinery, including robotic welders, automated concrete distributors, pallet circulation systems, and batching plants.

Monitor equipment performance and utilize computerized systems to track machinery health, identifying and addressing potential mechanical failures before they impact production.

Perform complex troubleshooting and repair of mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems specific to heavy automation and robotics.
Team Leadership & Project Management

Supervise and guide a team of mechanical technicians, fitters, and general workers, ensuring tasks are carried out efficiently and to high quality standards.

Coordinate with the Electrical & Automation teams to resolve complex electromechanical issues.

Supervise external contractors and vendors during equipment installation, major repairs, or facility upgrades, ensuring work meets Gamuda IBS standards.
Spare Parts & Inventory Control

Manage the mechanical spare parts inventory, determining critical spares for robotic and automated systems to prevent prolonged machinery downtime.

Source, evaluate, and liaise with suppliers for the procurement of mechanical parts, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality.
Continuous Improvement & Safety Compliance

Ensure strict compliance with the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) regulations and internal Gamuda QSHE (Quality, Safety, Health, and Environment) policies.

Maintain accurate documentation of all maintenance activities, machine logs, and root cause analysis reports for mechanical breakdowns.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.
Skills & Abilities

Technical Skills: * Strong hands-on knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyor systems, and motorized drives.

Experience with automated manufacturing systems, robotics, or precast machinery (e.g., Vollert & Ebawe) is highly advantageous.

Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and AutoCAD for reading mechanical drawings.

Soft Skills: Strong analytical problem-solving abilities, excellent leadership qualities, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced production environment.

Working Conditions: Willingness to work on shifts, weekends, or respond to on-call emergencies to support continuous plant operations.
Expected Minimum Years of Experience
Minimum of 3 to 5 years of working experience in mechanical maintenance within a heavy manufacturing, automation, or precast concrete environment.
