Job Summary

The Assistant Surveyor is responsible for supporting survey activities in the field and office, assisting in the preparation and execution of land, site, and construction surveys. The role involves setting out works, taking accurate measurements, maintaining survey records, and ensuring compliance with project specifications and standards. This position provides practical exposure to surveying techniques and serves as a foundation for career development in construction and infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Surveyor in carrying out field surveys for land, construction, and infrastructure projects.
  • Support the preparation of survey equipment, tools, and instruments before and after use.
  • Conduct measurements and data collection on site accurately under supervision.
  • Assist in the preparation of survey drawings, records, and reports.
  • Perform site setting out and mark reference points for construction works.
  • Maintain and ensure proper calibration of survey instruments (e.g., Total Station, GPS, leveling equipment).
  • Keep proper documentation and filing of survey records and data.
  • Adhere to company policies on Quality, Safety, Health, and Environment (QSHE) during field activities.
  • Perform other survey-related duties as assigned by the Surveyor or Management

Qualifications

  • Diploma / Certificate in Geomatics, Land Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Fresh graduates or candidates with up to 2 years of working experience in surveying are encouraged to apply.
  • Familiarity with survey instruments and basic surveying principles is an advantage.
  • Experience in construction, civil, or infrastructure projects will be a plus.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Analytical mindset with basic problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated, willing to learn, and adaptable to site conditions.
  • Capable of handling fieldwork activities under various weather and site conditions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic knowledge of AutoCAD or survey software will be an added advantage.
