Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

  • To organize, assign and supervise Finance staff on their functional roles and responsibilities, performance of recurring tasks & ad-hoc assignments and day-to-day financial operations
  • Prepare and review accounting, financial and other related reports / documents for internal and external reference or circulation and ensure timely submission and accuracy of form and contents therein
  • Liaise with Gamuda HQ, financial institutions, auditors, tax agent, consultants, authorities and statutory bodies, vendors & contractors, etc. on accounting and financial related matters
  • Responsible to formulate and recommend procedures and policies for Finance Department for Management's consideration and approval
  • Implementation and periodic review of internal controls, accounting and management reporting system in order to improve the management information system, reporting standard and expenditure controls of the various departments in the Company.
  • Responsible to coordinate and prepare the financial budget and/or projections and annual performance target.
  • Periodic financial reporting and monitoring of financial results against budget / projected financial targets. Perform periodic financial reviews / forecasts and any other ad-hoc analysis as needed. Analysis of operational cost and unit rates and reporting unusual variances.
  • Manage the cash flow position and funding requirements to optimize returns on surplus cash placements and minimize interest payment on loan drawdown.
  • Managing the Company's tax affairs to achieve optimal tax position within the limits of revenue law.
  • Responsible to provide training, guidance and support to subordinate staff and direct reports, to monitor and review their performance to ensure achievement of agreed KPIs and maintain reasonable quality of work output

Qualifications

  • Degree in Finance of a recognised Professional Accountancy qualification

Skills & Abilities

  • Good working knowledge on company law and related legislation, MFRS, cost accounting and taxation
  • Strong supervisory and team building skills
  • Strong on Microsoft Office and presentation skills using MS powerpoint
  • Capable to work with minimal supervision

Expected Minimum Years of Experience

Minimum of 10 years working experience in finance or management accounting function in construction or manufacturing. Experience in water-works is an advantage
