Job Summary

Manager responsible to lead, manage and deliver structural discipline works specifically on design development with driven passion in value engineering, construction innovation, design optimisation, design reviews and high-quality drawings for all undertaken projects involving bridges/viaducts, cut & cover structures, tunnels, dams, renewal energy schemes etc which meeting project requirements, cost and schedules.  

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for all tasks delegated by the Senior Manager in design management and structural discipline roles
• Assist the Senior Manager for tasks related to structural team in business proposals, technical write-up, and tender preparations
• Manage project design consultant to develop innovative and optimised design, while ensuring the works meet the project requirement as well as all statutory requirement
• Jointly responsible for conceptual design and options for new tenders and project proposals particularly rail and highway projects involving bridge/viaduct structures, tunnels and associated works involving hydropower plants, water supply and flood mitigation schemes           
• Assist the Senior Manager to implement design development considering optimisation, constructability and safety in design, and conduct site visits where necessary
• Responsible for reviews to ensure the design and drawings output are coordinated with multidiscipline integration, space-proofed and void of clashes, discrepancies and errors.    
• Attend internal and external meetings and workshops involving other departments, Clients & Authorities, Independent verifiers and checkers; and providing appropriate responses and solutions
• Supervise and mentor engineers to expand their capabilities       
• Manage design changes, documentation and design reports  

Qualifications

• Bachelor in Civil Engineering or higher qualification
• Professional Engineer qualification is preferred

Skills & Abilities

• Possess proven working skills in StaadPro, Midas, Autodesk suites and Sketchup
• Digital savvy & fast adaption to digital tools

Expected Minimum Years of Experience

• 10 to 15 years of related post graduate experience in design and design / construction management with strong background in structures particularly on bridges/viaducts, underground structures, hydropower plants and large-scale infrastructure works
